Nora Ney, nome artístico de Iracema de Sousa Ferreira, (Rio de Janeiro, 20 de março de 1922 — Rio de Janeiro, 28 de outubro de 2003) foi uma cantora, compositora e instrumentista brasileira. Aprendeu a tocar violão sozinha e, para incentivá-la, seu pai a presenteou com o instrumento. Familiarizava-se com o mundo da música frequentando assiduamente programas de rádio e de auditório. Dona de uma voz grave, começou sua carreira em 1950; em 1952 sua gravação de 'Ninguém me ama' foi o disco mais vendido do ano. 

Nora Ney, stage name of Iracema de Sousa Ferreira, (Rio de Janeiro, March 20, 1922 - Rio de Janeiro, October 28, 2003) was a Brazilian singer, songwriter and instrumentalist. She learned to play the guitar by herself and, to encourage her, hãoer father presented her with the instrument. She became familiar with the world of music by regularly attending radio and auditorium programs. Owner of a deep voice, she started her career in 1950; in 1952 his recording of 'Nobody loves me' was the best selling album of the year.

How I knew her...

Ela fazia um show no cinema do nosso bairro e fomos assisti-lo, minha irmã, uma prima e eu. Ao final daquela noite fria e chuvosa, a vimos bem de perto e ela elogiou minha prima: "Como as criancas gaúchas são bonitas!"

She was doing a show at the cinema in our neighborhood and we went to see her, my sister, a cousin and me. At the end of that cold and rainy night, we saw her up close and she praised my cousin: "How beautiful the gaúchas children are! "
