John Gowans (1934-2012) foi um clérigo escocês, que foi o 16º general do Exército de Salvação de 1999 a 2002. John Gowans (1934–2012) was a Scottish clergyman, who was the 16th General of The Salvation Army from 1999 to 2002. He is also notable for pairing with General John Larsson in the composition of many songs and musicals. ‘When God made him  threw away the mould,’ writes General John Larsson

How I met him for the first time...

No ICO, em 1973, o encontrei em Sunbury Court e em outra ocasião no no Corpo de Notingham, que dirigia.

At the ICO, in 1973, I met him at Sunbury Court and another day at Notingham Corps as the Corps leader.

Em 1978, assistimos em Londres ao magnífico musical "Sangue do Cordeiro", onde ele interpretou William Booth, o Fundador.

In 1978, we attended in London at the magnificent musical "Blood of the Lamb", in which he interpreted William Booth, the Founder".

General John Gowans visitou a Finlândia (foto). Meu neto JV entregou um buquê de flor para sua esposa.

Anneli foi a um congresso na Rússia e os encontrou.
