Job 19:23 - Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book! 

Jó 19:23 - Quem me dera agora fossem escritas as minhas palavras! Quem me dera fossem gravadas em livro!

Is.49:16 - Behold, I have graven you upon the palms of my hands.

INTRODUCTION 

INTRODUCÃO

My message contains information, curiosity, memories, testimony and I hope motivation, inspiration and blessing.

Minha mensagem contém informacão, curiosidade, lembrancas, testemunho e, espero, motivacão, inspiracão e bêncão.

Although it doesn't look like it, all these objects have something in common, a strict connection which has to do with PRINTER, PRINT OUT, PRESS, PRESSION, ENGRAVE and so on.

Embora não pareca, todos estes objetos têm algo em comum, uma estrita conexão que tem a ver com IMPRESSÃO, IMPRIMIR, IMPRESSORA, PRESSÃO, GRAVACÃO e daí por diante.

Let's start...

Vamos comecar...

- Dead Sea Scrolls (also the Qumran caves scrolls) were manuscripts discovered in 1942 by a shepherd... all books of the Old Testament, except Esther and Nehemias, and other scrolls.

- Manuscritos do Mar Morto (também os pergaminhos das cavernas de Qumran)... foram descobertos em 1942 por um pastor... todos os livros do Velho Testamento, exceto Ester e Neemias, e outros rolos.

- The fish was used to recognize churches and believers in a time Christians faced persecution in the Roman Empire. I c h i t u s, from the Greek, an acrostic meaning Jesus/Annointed/God's Son/Savior.

- O peixe era usado para reconhecer igrejas e crentes em um tempo que os cristãos enfrentaram perseguicão no império romano. I c h i t u s, do grego, um acróstico significando Jesus/ Ungido / Filho de Deus/ Salvador.

- In Ephesus 90% of the souvenirs were to praise the "Great Diana of Ephesus!". Finally I found one of the Celsius Library. The library was built to store 12.000 rolls.

- Em Éfeso 90% dos souvenirs eram para louvar a "Grande Diana de Éfeso"! Finalmente eu encontrei um da Biblioteca de Celsius, construída para armazenar 12.000 rolos.

- Johannes Gutenberg in fifteen century invented the printer in Germany. The first book that was printed was the Bible, in 1455.

- Johannes Gutenberg no século quinze inventou a impressora na Alemanha. O primeiro livro que foi impresso foi a Bíblia, em 1455.

- A miniature of a typewriter. The typewriter was invented by Christopher Sholes, of Milwaukee, in 1867 (Joke- "Daddy, it prints at the same time you write!")

- (no canto) Miniatura de uma máquina de escrever. A máquina de escrever foi inventada por Christopher Sholes. de Milwaukee, em 1867.(Piada . "Papai, ela imprime enquanto você escreve!")

- Objects in Portuguese "logotipo" and "fotolito" used to print photos years ago. I used a lot "fotolito" when I was the editor or SA newspaper in Brazil.

Objetos em português "logotipo" e "fotolito" usados para imprimir fotos há muitos anos. Quando fui editor do jornal do ES no Brasil, usei muitos fotolitos.

- I made a copy of the newspaper in the Library of my city of the day I was born, in 1943, with news about the 2ndWWar.

- Na biblioteca de minha cidade fiz uma cópia da primeira página do jornal do dia em que eu nasci, em 1943, com notícias sobre a 2aGuerra.

- Here, a Reader's Digest of the year I was born, 1943,  also with articles about the war.

- Aqui, um exemplar das Selecões do Reader's Digest do ano em que eu nasci, 1943, também com artigos sobre a guerra.

- Hebrew alphabet. The old Hebrew, idiom of the prophets, was resurrected in modern days and it is the idiom spoken in Israel in the last times. Now official language of the country.

- Alfabeto hebraico. O antigo hebraico, idioma dos profetas, foi ressuscitado nos dias modernos e é o idioma falado em Israel nos últimos tempos. Hoje é a língua oficial do país.

- A precious little book that I got was about Norman Rockwell 332 drawings.

- Um pequeno precioso livro que ganhei foi sobre os 332 desenhos de Norman Rockwell.

- With the collection of stamps of my father, now mine, I found an envelope stamped AIR CRASH.

- Com a colecão de selos de meu pai, agora minha, encontrei um envelope carimbado com ACIDENTE DE AVIÃO.

- When I went to Australia, I've been cover of the SA paper after knowing my testimony link with Australia.

- Quando fui à Austrália fui capa do jornal do ES depois que ficaram a par de meu testemunho ligado ao país.

- When I visited Oskar Schindler´s museum-factory in Krakow, Poland, I got as souvenir a point clock with a nazi stamp.

- Quando eu visitei o museu-fábrica de Oskar Schindler, na Cracóvia, Polônia, peguei como souvenir um cartão de relógio-ponto com o carimbo nazista.

- "Keep calm and carry on" was a posters produced by the British government in 1939, in the beggining of the the war. It was intented to raise the moral of the British public. 2 millions and a half were printed. Now a days is a decorative theme for a range of products.

- "Fique calmo e vá em frente" foi um poster produzido pelo governo britânico em 1939, no início da guerra. Foi intencionado para levantar a moral do povo britânico. 2 milhões e meio foram impressos. Hoje em dia é um tema de decoracão de muitos produtos.

- When my wife's family went to Brazil, her parents as missionaries,  her father learned Portuguese with a dictionary typed with a typewriter by a Finnish man who proved he had lots of "sisu". There was not Portuguese-Finnish dictionaries on that time... 1953.

- Quando a família de minha esposa foi ao Brasil, seus pais como missionários, seu pai aprendeu português com o auxílio de um dicionário datilografado por um finlandês que provou ter muito "sisu". Não havia dicionário português-finlandês naquele tempo... 1953.

- In the 90ties I was asked to write a devotional book... 365 lectures. I called the book "Building Daily".

- Nos anos 90 me foi pedido escrever um livro devocional... 365 leituras. Dei o título de "Edificacão Diária" para o livro.

- - The Songbook that my father used at Anglican Episcopal Church, with me now... it is very interesting: there are marks of his fingers in hymns that he liked best, like "Nearer my God to Thee".

- (no canto) O hinário que meu pai usou na sua igreja, Anglicana Episcopal, comigo agora... interessante que posso ver marcas de seus dedos em hinos que mais ela gostava, como "Mais junto, ó Deus, a Ti".

- When in 1973, being in England at a SArmy  college, certain day we visited a SA Press in St. Albans. Suddenly I saw a pile of Brazilian gold plated passports. I took a picture but I´ve been asked to destroy it and keep it confidential. On those days we had our fingerprint on it, not now a days.

- Quando, em 1973, estando na Inglaterra no Colégio Internacional para Oficiais, certo dia visitamos a Impressora do ES em St. Albans. De repente, vi uma pilha de passaportes brasileiros que foram banhados a ouro no local. Tirei uma foto, mas foi-me pedido destruir o filme e manter o assunto confidencial. Naquele tempo tínhamos nossa impressão digital nele, não mais atualmente.

- During the COVID worse phase, my hobby was to draw faces of friends and make a copy to them. I made more than a thousand.

- Durante a pior fase de Covid, meu passatempo foi desenhar rostos de amigos e dar cópias para eles. Fiz mais de mil.

- I've been quite busy printing posters of the Gospel Choir. I'll begin in the SA. In July I'll begin to spread all over the city!

- Tenho estado um tanto ocupado imprimindo posters do Gospel Choir que comecarei no ES. Em julho iniciarei a espalhá-los pela cidade.

- When we visited NASA in Florida, we got a t-shirt with the photo of our daughters. Years after that, I put the photo in one of our paper with the following words: "Child, someone who stays with us for a while and then desappears forever into the adult world" (many mothers don't agree with it...).

- Quando visitamos a NASA, na Flórida, fizemos uma camiseta com a foto de nossas filhas. Alguns anos depois, fiz da foto a capa de um dos jornais com as seguintes palavras: "Crianca, alguém que fica conosco por um tempo e desaparece para sempre no mundo dos adultos" (muitas mães não concordam com isso...)

- One of my souvenirs from Ukraine - the last country abroad I visited - was a Pepsi can. I asked my Ukranians friends to translate.. "For those who live in the fullest" (Iryna said: "It's you!"... a compliment?)

- Um de meus souvenirs da Ucrânia - o último país que tenho visitado - foi uma lata de Pepsi. Pedi aos meus amigos para traduzir e eles o fizeram... "Para aqueles que vivem em sua plenitude" (Iryna disse: "É você!"... um elogio?)

- From Salvation Army in South Africa, a postcard with no words but that causes a strong impression...

- Do Exército de Salvacão na África do Sul, um postal sem palavras mas que causa uma forte impressão...

- Why a bicycle? (or my days in the wilderness) The first time we came to Finland, we spent  almost 4 years and learned how to speak Swedish on the island of Åland/Ahvenamaa. There we worked at PLASTO toy factory. My job was to print in a machine the factorys' name, thousands of wheels, of different sizes. It is not necessary to take our brains when you work in a factory, only your hands. Nowadays when I see these toys I thank God for my time in the wilderness is completely passed.

- Por que uma bicicleta? (ou meus dias no deserto) A primeira vez que viemos para a Finlândia passamos quase 4 anos e aprendemos a falar sueco na ilha de Åland/Ahvenamaa. Lá trabalhamos na fábrica de brinquedos PLASTO. Meu trabalho era imprimir em uma máquina o nome da firma, milhares de rodas, de todos os tamanhos. Não é necessário levar o cérebro quando você trabalha em uma fábrica, basta levar suas mãos. Hoje em dia quando vejo um destes brinquedos agradeco a Deus pelo fato de que o meu tempo no deserto passou.

THE LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST

- I bought this picture in a Second Hand store. Some lady embroidered and framed it: "Let me live in the house by the side of the road and be a friend to man". One day I removed the glass and what a surprise! The embroidery was engraved on the glass!

- Comprei este quadro em uma loja de segunda-mão. Alguma senhora bordou e puseram o bordado em uma moldura: "Deixe-me viver em uma casa à beira da estrada e ser um amigo de quem passa" (livre). Um dia removi o vidro e que surpresa! O bordado ficou gravado no vidro!

Every word that Jesus spoke, at the Pentecost were printed in the disciples´minds and hearts. It was the inauguration of the Christian Church, according Samuel Logan Brengle.

Cada palavra que Jesus proferiu, no Pentecoste foi impressa nas mentes e coracões dos discípulos. Foi a inauguracão da Igreja Cristã, segundo Samuel Logal Brengle.

Holiness, power, courage... they became full of it for the proximity of Jesus in their lives.

Santidade, poder, coragem... eles ficaram cheios disso pela proximidade de Jesus em suas vidas.

The same thing can happen with us: the closer we are to Christ, the more we will be like Him. And we'll also be a blessing to whoever we find.

O mesmo pode acontecer conosco: o mais próximo que estivermos de Cristo, o mais parecido com Ele seremos. E seremos também uma bêncão a quem encontrarmos.
