Como a conheci?

How I met her?

Reconhecendo-a em uma loja de departamentos em Helsinki, enquanto eu vendia o "Sotahuuto" (Brado de Guerra), conversamos um pouco e ela me convidou para assistir ao seu show "Cirque Invisible". Fui assistir ao magnífico show e, terminado, subi ao palco para cumprimentá-la, ocasião quando lhe pedi posar em uma foto comigo, o que ela prontamente concordou.

I recognized Victoria when I was selling the "Sotahuuto" (The War Cry) in a department store in Helsinki. We talked a little  and she invited me do attend to the show "Invisible Circus" at Savoy Theater. I  attended the magnificent show and, finishing, I went up to the stage to greet her, occasion when I asked her to take a picture with me, what she agreed promply.

Não foi em nenhum comício, pois sou apolítico. Jango Goulart eu vi desfilando em carro aberto em minha cidade na década de 50.

It was not at any rally, as I am apolitical. I saw Jango Goulart parading in an open car in my city in the 50s.

Os Joystrings eram um grupo de música cristã britânica dos anos 1960, liderado pela tecladista e cantora com formação clássica Joy Webb, uma oficial do Exército da Salvação. 

The Joystrings were a 1960s UK Christian music group led by classically trained keyboard player and singer Joy Webb, an officer (now retired) in the Salvation Army.

How I met Joy Webb and Wycliffe Noble?

O grupo, que esteve nas paradas de sucesso na Inglaterra,  já havia se dissolvido,, mas em 1973 vi Joy Webb subindo com seu violão pesado a subida de Sydenham Hill, onde ficava o Colégio Internacional para Oficiais (ICO), em Londres. Ela ia fazer uma apresentacão para nosso grupo. Quando a vi, ofereci-me para carregar o seu violão, o que ela prontamente aceitou. E fomos conversando todo o trajeto. Mais tarde no evento, conversei com o  baterista, Wycliffe Noble, que, sabendo-me brasileiro, falou-me que seu sonho era conhecer Brasilia-DF, sendo ele um arquiteto. Gostou de saber que eu também trabalhara em Brasília, poucos anos antes de conhecê-lo.

The group, which was on the succes charts in England, had already dissorved, but in 1973 I saw Joy Webb climbing the Sydenham Hill with her heavy guitar, where the International College for Officers (ICO) was located in London. She was going to make a presentation for our group. When I saw her, I offered to carry her guitar, which she readily accepted. And we were talking the whole way. Later in the event, I talked to the drummer, Wycliffe Noble, who, knowing me Brazilian, told me that his dream was to get to know Brasilia-DF, being an architect. He liked to know that I had also worked in Brasilia, a few years before I met him.

Bem cedo tomamos o ônibus para a aguardada visita.

Early in the morning we took the bus for the expected visit.

O que eu esperava encontrar...

What I expected to find...

... e o que encontrei... acontece!
... and what I found... it happens!

Alguém comentou sobre a chuva: "Não se esqueça de que está em território britânico!"
About the rain, someone comented: "Don't forget that you are in United Kingdom!"

Subitamente, lembrei-me de que, certa vez, voando ao Brasil pela Iberia, sobrevoamos a grande montanha de Gibraltar!

Suddenly I remembered that once, flying to Brazil with Iberia Airlines, we did fly over Gibraltar big mountain!

Depois de mostrarmos os nossos passaportes à polícia britânica, a vez de subirmos a montanha.
After showing our passports to the British police, we climbed the mountain in vans like this.

Depois de tantas recomendações de faz-isto, não faz aquilo, decidi ver os macacos de dentro da van.
After the many do-that, don't-do-that, I decided to stay inside the van to see the monkeys.

É possível usar o teleférico para subir a montanha até uma certa parte.
It is possible to use the teleferics to go until a certain point of the mountain.

Uma senhora da turné permitiu um macaco subir nos seus ombros. "Nunca tocá-los!" é o regulamento mais importante, e manter suas bolsas bem fechadas, pois eles estão interessados em achar algo para comer.
A lady allowed a monkey to climb her shoulders. "Never touch them!" is an important regulation, and "keep your bags closed for they want to find something to eat".

Monkeys seem to play all the time.

Nos escuros dias de expulsão e da Inquisição, em Gibraltar, indicando tolerância é provavelmente onde os judeus têm sido mais integrados. (veja mais no link - Wikipedia)

Em Gibraltar, embora Reino Unido, dirige-se como em outros lugares do mundo, pela direita.
In Gibraltar, although part of UK, a driving is not done as in UK. 

Quase no fim da excursão, enfim, uma foto que considero boa, sempre com minha bolsa comprada em Belfast, que atraía a atenção de muitos turistas da Irlanda do Norte!
Almost at the end of the tour, a good photo, always with my Belfast bag Titanic, that attracted the attention of many turists of Northern Ireland!

Que bom que o tempo melhorou!

Por falta de espaço, escolho atualmente as menores lembranças. O primeiro, surpreendido com uma fotógrafa ao descer do ônibus; na volta ela apresenta seu trabalho pra quem quiser comprar o minúsculo pratinho com sua "careta".
